Kanha National Park
Kanha National Park is nestled in the Maikal range of Satpuras in Madhya Pradesh, the heart of India that forms the central Indian highlands. The national park is being popularized as the Tiger reserve and interestingly is being declared as one of the finest wildlife areas in the world.
Varanasi
Varanasi, or Benaras, (also known as Kashi) is one of the oldest living cities in the world. Varanasi`s Prominence in Hindu mythology is virtually unrevealed. Mark Twain, the English author and literature, who was enthralled by the legend and sanctity of Benaras, once wrote : “Benaras is older than history, older than tradition, older even than legend and looks twice as old as all of them put together.
Jaisalmer
About 15 km from the city, the Wood Fossil Park (Aakal) reveals geologic events from 180 million years ago. Jaisalmer, the “Golden City,” guards India’s western frontier near the Pakistan border and the Thar Desert. Its iconic Jaisalmer Fort, or Sonar Qila, is more than a tourist attraction—it’s a living landmark.
Goa
Goa, India’s 25th state, was liberated from Portuguese rule in 1961 and became a separate state on 30 May 1987. Covering 3,702 km², it has North and South Goa districts. Bordered by the Terekhol River (north), Karnataka (east and south), and the Arabian Sea (west), it lies 594 km by road from Mumbai.
Gujarat
Gujarat’s history dates back to 2000 B.C., with Lord Krishna settling in Dwarka. It was later ruled by Mauryas, Guptas, Pratiharas, and the Chalukyas (Solankis), who brought prosperity despite invasions by Mahmud Ghazni. Later, Gujarat faced Muslim, Maratha, and British rule, and before Independence, it was divided into British and Princely territories.
Hampi
Hampi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a captivating landscape of temples, royal pavilions, and boulder-strewn hills. Once the Vijayanagara Empire’s capital and one of the world’s richest cities in the 14th century, it features the 700-year-old Virupaksha Temple and the iconic stone chariot at Vittala Temple.
